Recommended This stuff is among my top favorite products from ON. They really nailed the post workout drink with this product. You get the carbs, the protein, and some extra nutrients for good measure. I got a huge reduction in recovery time. And it tastes great. I recommend it to all my friends.

Recommended so i just finished my first tub of this today. all i can say is as long as i can put out the money, im sticking with this. the first two days of using this product after switching from just the normal ON hydro whey, my muscles felt fuller and my recovery time decreased a ton.

all i take is a multi vitamin and work real hard in the gym, and the gains i have made with 2 1 1 recovery were amazing. like im not talking through the roof gains because it was just one bottle of a post workout, but my strength went up a tiny notch but the main thing is the recovery and how your muscles feel full when taking this.

the taste was ok. it really tasted like the chocolate malt of 100 % whey on ON. after i finish another bottle, i will be stacking with kre alkalyn 1500.

but overall great product, the only downside is the price. 2 week supply is 32 dollars. so that is the only negative. other than that, thank you ON for the perfect post workout supp

Recommended Hello all, this is my last review on the trio of ON products I received. 2:1:1 Recovery.

This product comes as such a relief! Usually, after an intense workout I'll mix a quick carb powder with my whey and end up with a protein shake with white lumps in it (there is a trick to this sometimes which includes keeping the carb powder separate from the whey until shaking, but that's another story for another time.), this eliminates that hassle, however, this is far from where 2:1:1 comes into its own. It's what's in the powder itself.

This product does all the measurements for you, it has the 2:1 carb/protein mix and a hit of BCAA's for good measure. The thing that attracted me most however was the various types of fast acting carbs included. Usually, I'm just using maltrodextrin or dextrose, but this really changes things up.

The taste is good, as is to be expected with ON. I received my particular powder in chocolate and it tastes great and mixes very well. I take it, already mixed, to the gym with me so that after a hard workout I can knock it back, and it doesn't leave me feeling sick and bloated.

If you want the convenience of a pre-mixed, great tasting recovery shake then this is the product. It's the first time I've used a powder designed specifically for recovery, and I can certainly say that it frees up my Whey powder for day to day general use, as this stuff I use specifically for post-workout.

I hope you all enjoy this review, and it helps you out!

Keep lifting!

Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance, but what's so good about carbs with protein at the end of a workout? So what do you use your whey for now? Thanks!

Simple carbs post workout are quickly absorbed by muscles and help aid the rate at which protein and nutrients work their way in to the muscle tissue.

Maybe Recommended Not great taste (vanilla). Have had better post workouts (ex/ Torrent). Got a great deal due to close expiration date, however would not take again. Good if youre looking for a postworkout mix without all the extra stuff (ex/ creatine) added in

Recommended At age 38 I am jumping back into intense workouts, and wanted something to help aid recovery. I typically feel like I've been hit by a bus after intense workouts and was looking for something to avoid that. When I first jumped back into daily workouts I tried a couple Protein mixes from GNC, but did not find them to be overly effective. Searching around on this site I saw the good reviews for 2:2:1 and gave it a shot.
It is very effective for post-workout recovery. I definitely feel the energy come back after a very short period of time, and there is no crash after. I think it is helping to speed recovery - I say that only because the workouts are very intense and sometimes I run myself down regardless. However I can say this has helped me maintain enough energy to break free of the "every other day" full recovery routine that was keeping me at the status quo for so long.
I'm not really looking around actively for a replacement for this, although I would try something else if I saw enough reviews that met what I was looking for. For now I am sticking with this for post-workout recovery. I pair this with Black Powder as a pre-workout and also take GNC vitamin packs.
I overpaid for this at GNC first time around - I am finding much better pricing and what I would consider to be fair pricing now that I know a little more about what I am looking for.

Recommended It works great and tastes great for me.
I am in the middle of P90x... some days still hurt, although this is more related to my workout and not necessarily the lack of the recovery drink.

Recommended Definitely love all the BCAA's and amino acids, the fast carbs and Protein. Amazing product. I've tried the Rocky Road flavor, which kinda tastes like a cherry chocolate flavor, and the Colossal Chocolate is phenomenal. Reminds me of brownie batter. HUGE improvements on strength, definition, and recovery with this product than just a Protein shake. Hardly am ever sore the next day, unless I do "the 300 workout", and I've still seen gains. Not too many servings (if you use 2 scoops) in this. Probably lasts a month if you workout a lot. This is the reason why I don't skip workouts, just so I can drink this. I pop a kre alkalyn 1500 after a workout and drink this 30 minutes later. Definitely recommend.

This allows me to be fresh for my next workout. I would recommend this to anyone. MAny people like the taste but i cant stand it myself so i just chug it and then down alot of water after that haha.

Recommended Been through a few tubs of this, great stuff. Mixes very well, Colossal Chocolate taste is out of this world! Great nutrient profile, basing the ratios around the 2:1:1 principle. ON takes it even further and gives you a time released bled of proteins to aid in recovery and growth. Got love the waxy maize and hydro whey. I definantly saw an decrease in recovery time, and my strength and gains were up.
I recommend this to anyone looking for a solid post workout shake to incorporate into their supplement regimen.

Can someone compare this to ON's GlycoMaize?

GlycoMaize is basically just waxy maize and nothing else. So how does it compare? 2:1:1 has the maize in it along with other carbs, plus a BCAA bled, and a protein blend.

If you were looking to isolate the waxy maize, then the GlycoMaize is a good choice.
