MuscleMeds

MuscleMeds was founded in 2008 and is based in West Caldwell.

The MuscleMeds brand is owned by Maximum Human Performance, LLC – which also trades under the MHP brand name. The company was founded by Gerard Dente, a former bodybuilder who won the NPC Teen New Jersey Championships in 1986 and the NPC Collegiate Nationals in 1988. The MHP website calls Dente “the Mind Behind the Muscle”.

In addition to MHP and MuscleMeds, another Maximum Human Performance brand is Fit & Lean.

The MuscleMeds founder says that his company employs a wide range of quality controls to ensure its warehouses, offices and practices all comply with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP). In addition, MuscleMeds trains all its staff “in the science of the product line” to ensure “expert” customer service.

MuscleMeds athletes include – or have included – Nathan De Asha and Shawn Smith, both of whom are IFBB Professional Bodybuilders. But perhaps MuscleMeds’ most famous former endorser is Kai Greene, a bodybuilder who placed 2nd at the 2014 Mr Olympia, and who won high placings in several competitions since 1994.

In the MuscleMeds product range, customers will find amino acids, creatine, and glutamine supplements. However, the brand is mostly dedicated to a wide range of protein powders and mass gainers. This includes MuscleMeds Carnivor – a beef protein isolate and ready-to-drink shake that’s free gluten, sugar, lactose and dairy.

A number of supplements in MuscleMeds’ Carnivor range have been tested by Informed-Choice – a globally-recognized independent program which tests facilities and supplements for banned substances. As a result, these MuscleMeds products are now certified ‘trusted by sport’.

Meanwhile, the brand describes Carnivor Shred (another beef protein isolate) as the “ultimate fat burning and muscle building solution”. This is because alongside its 23g of protein, it also includes thermogenic ingredients like green tea, yerba mate, and green coffee bean to boost users’ metabolisms.
