The reason that many say 18 is simply for a legal blanket. If you look at products like Jacked it says 18 as well for this very reason.

21 is the key age because around then your body finally settles down its constant hormonal fluctuation and you have a significantly lowered chance of getting adverse side effects vs. doing them when you are younger.

Also, when you hit 21, that doesn't mean just jump on a cycle either. Proper research of what they are and how each substance works is a MUST. This is to be done BEFORE you start any cycle. It is possible to get great gains without them and should always be used as a last resort and you have exhausted your other options. Don't get me wrong, they have their place and can be used, but must be done so responsibly, but you must have a solid knowledge about these compounds including the risks and proper procedure for their use. I don't mean to preach, but I see guys jump on cycles WAY too soon and try and always try and keep people from making this same mistake. Keep in mind that I know many that regret ever doing cycles.

Just some food for thought...

Hey Shock, being only 20, your natural testosterone levels are still at their highest.  Taking a test booster, PH or steroid will actually be a detrement to your system because the sudden influx in test levels would cause your own body to stop its test production and start estrogen production to balance out (leading to shrunken testicles, hair loss, voice changes stunted growth, etc...).  Afterwards, your body may never get back to "normal" levels again because of permanent damage.

As for when you can start, on average, male test levels starts to decline at 25 and from there, free test levels in the blood drop pretty quickly from 28+yrs.  These are obviously rough numbers as it is different in everyone and there are some things that you can do which will help keep your levels higher than others (such as weight lifting, cardio, and diet).

The only thing I would even remotely recommend you use for the next couple years would be ZMA as it is a great sleep helper and has been shown to also help raise test levels (although this data was obtained from a flawed study).  It shouldn't hurt your already peaking test levels and will likely help you rest better at night but as for other test boosters and PH's, do your organs a favor and lay off till 25+.  Just my advice and hope it helps.
